The Draconian race is a collective slowly on the rise back from the brink
of extinction. An influential group on the culture and society of the realm, they have for centuries acted as the silent
movers and shakers, contributing vast amounts of magical and technological advancements.

Unique Abilities:
Draconians are
powerful creatures, rivaling Hylians and Andorians. They are capable of many of the same spells as Hylians; telekinesis,
teleportation, and some minor telepathy with other telepathic creatures. In addition, they share some powers with Andorians,
including the ability to open portals and to shapeshift at will. Draconians are known to have three different forms,
which can be found in detail in the Appearance section.
The most noteworthy ability of a Draconian is the power of
flight. All Draconians are born with feathered wings which they can extend and retract at will. Draconians can
fly much higher and maintain altitude for much longer than the other winged creatures of the realm with minimal burn out.
It is also widely known that Draconians have nearly painless extension of the wings, following their initial flight.
Like
many other races, the Draconians are capable of forming energy blasts for offensive attacks. Often, the color of these
blasts corresponds to the color of the individual's wings. Draconians do not experience much burn out from the creation
of these blasts, however, they are rather weak, compared to those of Hylians. The primary offensive attack they use,
instead, is their unique ability to breathe fire, a power based not in magic, but rather in chemicals produced naturally by
the healthy Draconian body.
History:
"When the world was dark, Tyr, the Dragon Goddess created Dragons who built a floating land called Atlantis.
When she was satisfied with their work, she turned them into Draconians, giving them the ability to summon angelic wings and
turn back into Dragons at will. And so they lived on Atlantis in peace."
So begins the Draconian creation myth.
According to documents, the Draconain race originated some hundred thousand years ago in a kingdom called Atlantis.
About
ten thousand yeras ago Atlantis was destroyed by unknown forces. The survivors of the catastrophy expanded out into
the realm for about two thousand years before a mass genocide of Draconians began. For three thousand years several
other species chased the Draconians across the mainland until all the survivors had either been exiled to uncharted lands
or killed.
The kingdom of Fanelia was settled by the remaining Draconians and the most promenent family, the Fanel
Family, rose to power. The last Draconian Queen, Angelina Draco was murdered in the fall of Fanelia and the species
disappeared from the realm, most of them having been killed by raids.
Though Draconian numbers dwindle, their presence
is still a powerful force on the realm. Anti-Draconian sentiment has died down on the mainland, and completely vanished
on the three Alastrian Islands. There are rumored to be a handful of Draconians still in existence in and around Fanelia.
Angelina Draco's bloodline, while deluded, is still in existence today. The current royal family of Fanelia, the Fanel
family, is the very same Fanel family that ruled over Fanelia five hundred years ago.
Appearance:
Most Draconians have the capability to shapeshift between three different body forms,
an ability both enhancing their survival rate, and drawing much attention to Draconian hunters and haters.
According
to the Dragian creation myth, Draconians were originally Dragons. Evidence for this still exists today in the Draconian
ability to assume the form and size of a Dragon. Generally, the color of a Draconian's scales corresponds to wing color.
A Draconian in his or her Dragon form will often grow as large as twenty stones, with a long, deterous tail which can be manipulated
at will. Speech is grately impaired in this form, often resulting in a lisp, however, it is still possible with practice.
The
second form a Draconian can assume is a cross between a Dragon and humanoid body. In this form, the individual walks
on two legs, but is hunched over and still partly covered in scales, although hair and eye color remain fairly humanoid.
A
Draconian's final, and safest, form is that of a humanoid body. Draconians in this form generally manifest themselves
as Humans, but with a greater variation in possible eye and hair color. The only thing that marks them as Draconian,
in this form, are two long scars running down their backs, caused by the use of their feathered wings, the color of which
can vary unpredictably. Draconians manifest their age like most other humanoids, proportionally to their long lifespans.
In general, Draconian crossbreeds tend to favor their non-Draconian genes, however. Very few Draconian crossbreeds manifest
wings or the ability to change out of this humanoid form.
Reproduction:
Although demonoids, Draconians reproduce in the humanoid
fashion. The gestation period is markedly brief for most Draconian females, ranging between four and five months.
Multiple births are fairly common among Draconians, but often, not all of the children manage to survive.
As far as
crossbreeding is concerned, Draconians are very fertile, some would say even more fertile, when paired with other species.
Draconian genes are recessive, however, and generally the child manifests few to none of the abilities of their Draconian
parents. Multiple births are less common in crossbreeding than for purebreds and the gestation period increases to six
months.
Draconians are known to be incredibly loyal to their mates, a connection often thought to be linked with the
ritual of Oomox of their Andorian cousins. Draconians have incredible fidelity and multiple marriages are practically
unheard of, except in ceremonial symbolism. Premarital sex is generally frowned upon, although with the passage of time,
the Draconians have grown a bit more tolerant of it.
